I had the privelege of playing one of SoCal’s premiere golf courses. Monarch Beach Golf Links is a Troon golf course located near Dana Point at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort. It’s a par 70 course, fairly straight forward layout with great ocean views. Their signature holes 3 and 4 are located on the coastline. If you’ve played other Troon golf courses, you expect a first class course and this one didn’t disappoint. If ever in the Dana Point area, playing this resort course is a must.

A hot spot in Tampa is the Blue Martini located on International Mall. With live bands, an outdoor bar/patio, and the best martinis (of course). The mall is close to several restaurants including The Capital Grille.

On a recommendation, we found a fun and delicious place to have dinner drinks–Firefly. Famous for their tapas menu (small appetizers), and equally famous for their raspberry mojito and sangria…both can be served by the pitcher. You must try their paella! The short ribs are a close second…so many on the menu to list. Great atmosphere for a group.
Hands down one of the best steakhouses in Vegas! You must try the prime rib…it is their signature dish. they have several cuts…served table side. Also try the au gratin potatoes and spinach. We try to have at least one of our dinners there whenever we visit vegas.

PH has been one of my favorites, but I am rethinking that after our recent visit there. The service has significantly gone downhill. We booked a non smoking room, but was placed in a smoking room. We asked to be transferred, but was told the hotel was completely booked and we had to stay in the room at least one night. I even offered to pay for another upgrade room…even asked if the suites were available! No hotel is ever completely booked! There are plenty of hotels in Vegas, so PH is off our list.
I hear Aria, one of the newest hotels on the strip located at Center City is phenomenal! I’ll have to try it and report on it on our next trip.
